Another victim of covid: the cancellation of the world's largest auto show in New York
Due to the threat of the Delta strain, the organizers had to cancel the largest and most authoritative auto show in the world - NYIAS. This is not the first time the event has been postponed from year to year due to the coronavirus infection, which has swept like a hurricane around the world.

For the same reason, the auto show did not take place in 2020 either. The organizers promised that the show will be open to the public on August 20-29, 2021. But this time too, the organizers from the New York Dealers Association (GNYADA) were forced to announce the cancellation of the auto show with great disappointment.

Infections with SARS-CoV-2 and the new Delta strain have increased in New York State. The city authorities are taking all measures to suppress the growth of the incidence, and the cancellation of the mass event – one of the necessary measures that prevent the spread of infection.

It should be noted that the NYIAS Auto Show is 121 years old, and the organizers are striving to maintain its credibility and provide a safe environment for all visitors and exhibitors. In the past few weeks, the epidemiological situation in New York State has changed for the worse. Therefore, these circumstances make it difficult to hold the exhibition at the proper level, which visitors and event partners are waiting for.

Large brands were supposed to participate in the exhibition: Alfa Romeo, Bugatti, Chevrolet, Chrysler, Dodge, FIAT, Ford, Hyundai, Infiniti, Jeep, Kia, Koenigsegg, Lamborghini, Lexus, Lincoln, Lotus, Nissan, Polestar, Porsche, Ram, Rimac, Subaru, Toyota, Volkswagen, Volvo.

President Mark Schinberg expressed his confidence that the legendary NYIAS auto show will continue to please its fans and resume its regular schedule in April 2022. He promised that the show will not only return to its previous scale, but will be bigger and better than before.< /p>

The New York Auto Show is not the only one to fall victim to covid. The 2021 Detroit Auto Show is also canceled due to the pandemic.
