From August 29, changes are coming in neighboring Poland - new rules and new traffic signs at the entrance to the central part of the city, which will denote the "Zone of environmentally friendly cars." The corresponding crossed out sign will also be established on the border of the end of such a zone. Entrance to such a zone will be free only for owners of electric cars and cars that run on hydrogen, compressed or liquefied chilled natural gas (methane). To get to the city center by car with a gasoline, diesel or liquefied propane-butane mixture, the driver will have to pay. An hour of stay in the "ecozone" will cost 2.5 zlotys (19 UAH), but you can pay 25 zlotys (190 UAH) immediately for a day.
If you decide to ignore the new sign and drive your car with a diesel / gasoline engine to the ecozone, get ready to pay a penalty for a freebie in the amount of 500 zlotys, or 3800 hryvnias. The Polish authorities decided on such drastic measures in favor of protecting the ecology of the urban environment.
Previously, the Germans resorted to similar measures that limited the movement of diesel vehicles in the city center. Cars that did not meet Euro standards below Euro 5 quickly fell out of favor with local authorities. Such an “internal dieselgate” caused major changes in the car market - the Germans massively abandoned cars that could not be handed over for recycling in exchange for cash incentives.
Probably, soon the Poles will think about where to put diesel / gasoline cars, regardless of which Euro fuel they correspond to.
