Fine for tinted windows in a car

Fine for tinted windows in a car

The rules of the road of Ukraine forbidden to use a vehicle with tinted windows. If excessive tinting impairs the transparency of the glass, interferes with or limits visibility from the driver's seat, the owner of such a car will incur an administrative penalty.
If the car driver has ignored this rule, for the first time, police officers have the right to write him a fine in the amount of UAH 340, and if the traffic violation is repeated within a year, the driver can be paid with rights for a period of three months to six months or they can be arrested for 5-10 days.
However, there are some exceptions to the rules. In many countries of the world there are limitations on the level of tinted windows in a car, and Ukraine is no exception in this regard. So, for a windshield, the permissible light transmission level is at least 75%, the remaining windows in the cabin must pass at least 70%. Some motorists use completely forbidden tinting with a mirror effect.
Before issuing a fine to the driver about an offense, the police officer must determine the percentage of light transmission with a special device - a trauma meter - and draw up an appropriate inspection report. If a police officer drew up an act without using the device, having determined the level “by eye”, such a fine cannot be considered legal.
