Synthetic gasoline from Porsche is 85% safer than conventional fuel
Cars with internal combustion engines are rapidly becoming a relic of the past, giving way to environmentally friendly “green” electric vehicles.

However, humanity will not abandon gasoline cars in an instant and will not say goodbye to oil-powered vehicles soon. It will take time to fully transition to pure electric transport. And at this turning point in the rejection of cars with traditional engines, synthetic fuel will become a good alternative for cars with internal combustion engines, because it is much safer for the environment.

Porsche is working with Exxon Mobil, Siemens Energy and other partners to commercialize liquid fuels. The task of such fuel – minimum carbon footprint and extending the life of cars with traditional engines. Last year, the first steps were already taken – Porsche announced the construction in Chile of a plant for the production of carbon-neutral methanol and gasoline under the eFuel brand, which is a synthetic gasoline. It has the same combustible properties as traditional fuel, but at the same time it has significantly less harm to the environment.

This synthetic fuel is being developed as an addition to electricity and for a transitional period when humanity will completely switch to electric cars. Automaker Porsche has set itself the task of making the new eFuel suitable for use in classic cars. After all, about 70% of the cars of the German company, which it has produced during its existence, are still on the move.

Porsche's Chillian plant plans to produce 130,000 liters of eFuel annually, by 2024 volumes should increase to 55 million liters of fuel, and in 2026 – 10 times more, 550 million liters. Starting next 2022, the German automaker will be fueling its track sports cars with eFuel to see how synthetic fuel performs in extreme conditions.

Thanks to the innovative eFuel, even a complete ban on ICE cars will allow Porsche to sell its cars on the traditional system.
