Ukrainian car fleet: statistics showed what is the average age of cars
Ukrainian passenger cars are on average more than twice as old as in European countries. So, on average, a car of the domestic auto industry was produced 22.7 years ago, and a car of European production - 10.8 years.
The information-analytical group Auto-consulting published its calculations for the Ukrainian market. She conducted her own research on the domestic market and provided data as of the beginning of 2021. The calculations for the European market were carried out by the Association of European Automobile Manufacturers (ACEA).
As for the fleet of light commercial vehicles, experts note the average age of such a car in Ukraine reaches 18.5 years, in Europe – 10.9 years. Trucks over 3.5 tons in the EU reach an age of 12.4 years, and in the Ukrainian fleet – 23.3 years old.
Auto-consulting notes that small class buses are the youngest in Ukraine – 15.3 years. If we analyze buses of all categories that travel on Ukrainian roads, then on average such cars are already 18 years old. Buses of the European fleet are 6.6 years younger than Ukrainian counterparts from the same category, that is, they have reached the age of 11.4 years.
