Synthetic fuel as an alternative to traditional
To solve the problem of creating high-quality synthetic fuel, the best experts of the Audi concern, Energiedienst AG, and experts from Ineratec have united. The latter, by the way, produces chemical reactors. As part of this project, it is planned to build a high-tech plant for the production of synthetic diesel fuel e-diesel. It is assumed that in 2018 such a product will already be available for sale. According to experts, a specialized plant will be able to annually produce 400 thousand liters of diesel.
The implementation of such a promising project began in the Swiss town of Laufenburg. The branded e-diesel Audi will be created on the basis of modern technologies in the chemical industry and hydropower. The process of obtaining such a product is electrolysis, as a result of which engineers plan to produce hydrogen, which in turn will react with carbon dioxide. Then the compounds are split into synthetic fuel and waxes.
The benefit of such an e-diesel, in contrast to traditional fuels, according to experts of the German automaker, is high efficiency. Moreover, synthetic fuels are much more environmentally friendly and pose a lesser threat to the environment, since a minimum amount of heavy compounds are released during combustion. The successful implementation of the project with the release of synthetic diesel engine prompted engineers to create synthetic gasoline.
