The world will soon face a sharp collapse in the auto industry
Such disappointing forecasts are given by auto experts. Already in the current 2021, automakers around the world will release 74.8 million cars. Analysts from Automobilwoche came to such expected figures in their forecast. For the auto industry, this is a frightening figure, because it is 5 million less than last year 2020, when the pandemic raged around the world and production fell into decline.

It looks like the automotive industry will not soon recover from the collapse in 2020. The reality is that improvement in the auto industry is delayed indefinitely. Experts say that by the end of the year, the decline in production will reach 9.3%. The situation will not be saved even by a rapid growth in sales of 34% in the first half of 2021.

The reason for the decline of the industry in 2021 is not at all in COVID-19, but in the acute shortage of chips that the whole world is facing. Until now, this problem has not been eliminated, to this day, many industries related to technology are experiencing a shortage. And there are all prerequisites for the fact that the second half of the year will not resolve the situation and the crisis will only get worse.

It is believed that the semiconductor crisis will recede only by the beginning of 2023. But experts predict the onset of another crisis, no less acutely felt for motorists – lack of batteries for electric cars. As the demand for an environmentally friendly mode of transport is growing, and the pace of production of lithium-ion batteries has not kept pace.
