Unprecedented demand for cars with zero emissions
Association Ukravtoprom published the results of sales of electric vehicles for the period from January to May 2017. These associations have shown a three-fold increase in auto sales with zero emissions. The domestic market is now experiencing an unprecedented demand for electric cars and this trend will only grow.
In the primary market of passenger cars, the share of environmentally friendly cars amounted to almost 2%. If we compare the indicators with the same period last year, we can state the fact that the demand for "green" cars increased by 2.8 times. However, experts say that the age structure of the electric car market has changed significantly.
In 2016, the share of new cars in primary registrations of electric vehicles was almost 45%, this year it was only 18%, that is, 958 electric cars with electric traction. Of these, 816 Ukrainian motorists prefer the Nissan Leaf model, which remains the leader in the Ukrainian electric car market. Also, "Leaf" entered the top 10 electric cars in terms of power reserve. It’s a paradox, but in our country this car is not officially represented, but on the car markets at the “gray” dealers you can safely buy it.
The second place in the ranking of popular electric vehicles is occupied by Ford Focus Electric, in January-May, 37 Ukrainians got this car. The third place in the top three belongs to two brands at once: Tesla Model S and BMW i3. For five months, Tesla and BMW received 24 registration numbers.
